📑 Research

Based on existing studies, I researched the pains and needs of the user's shopping experience. This allowed for an appropriate design to address those needs.

To set the foundation for my research, I searched numerous ecommere platforms to see what features were common across the board, and how my application could stand out differently. I also looked up common applications such as Amazon, Myntra, Swiggy. I then performed a comparative competitive analysis of just the mobile applications. What I realized was the market had already been very saturated with similar applications. This helped me determine what features were necessary for our mobile application.

At the same time, I learned that most of these applications lacked in few users needs.

A summary of the needs

  1. Alternate options and comparison
  2. Lack of product information
  3. Personalized ad free homescreen
  4. 1-click shopping
  5. Easier user interface and user experience
  6. Seamless products searching
  7. Discounts and offers should be easily visible to users
  8. Familiarity and Simplicity while exploring the site
  9. Continue searching for something

Assumptions made

  1. A significant portion of users who reach the home screen have the intention of buying specific items.
